Weight loss plateaus are so hard to deal with and they're frustrating. You may think no matter how much work you put into it and how hard you try, the weight is not going to come off. It's important to remember plateaus are only temporary and they will go away, but you must work to make it happen.
The worst thing you can do when you're at a weight loss plateau is stop trying. Putting the weight on is a lot easier to do than taking it off, so it's important to continue working at your weight loss goals so you can ultimately reach your end result.
When you find you're at a plateau with your weight, it's important to step it up a notch. It's possible the reason you're where you are is because you're not doing enough to make it happen. It's possible you're eating one too many low fat desserts or it's possible your 20 minute walk three days a week isn't enough. Why not try eliminating the plateau by making a small change like eating low fat desserts three days a week instead of four or changing the amount of time you walk to 30 minutes a day?
Whatever you choose to change, make sure you keep at it and don't give up, because it's not going to make it any worse. If after two weeks you find it's not working, step it up again. An example of this would be with your exercise. Instead of working out for 30 minutes three days a week, increase it to five days a week. Another example would be with dessert. If you eat a dessert every day, eliminate two a week.
Something else to consider when you're in a weight loss plateau is the foods you eat. Are you eating processed foods? Are you eating enough protein? How about fiber? All of those are important to thing about and if you're eating too much or not enough it could be causing a problem. It's important to pay attention to what you eat and how much, so you may need to keep track for a week and then make changes based on what you see is wrong.
When you have a plateau during weight loss it's hard to handle, but when you follow these suggestions you'll find it will go away and you'll begin to lose weight again. Before you know it you'll reach your weight loss goals and you'll look great.
